Polish Rock Collection at the Polish Rock Granary

Polish Rock Granary in Jarocin, a branch of the Regional Museum, possesses a unique collection of photographs, documents, and films related to the history of Polish rock music, dated from 1959 until today. The most interesting exhibits are presented at a permanent exhibition, available also on-line. The history of Polish rock is not only the evolution of the genre and styles, bands, albums, concerts, and festivals; it is also the dissent against the dominant culture and the search for an alternative. The location of Polish Rock Granary is by no means coincidental. In the 1980s the small town of Jarocin hosted the Rock Musicians’ Festival that attracted rock music fans and alternative culture participants from all over Poland, and even from Czechoslovakia and GDR.

Polish Section of the Radio Free Europe

The collection of the Radio Free Europe consists of 17 000 recordings of broadcasts on magnetic tapes and casettes, most of them covering the key historical events in Poland and within Polish diaspora. Polish Section of the Radio Free Europe broadcasted political, but also cultural, musical, religious and entertainment content, created by journalists and writers from Polish diaspora in Western Europe. The Radio was one of the main sources of independent news in socialist Poland.

Polish Underground Library at Libri Prohibiti

The Polish Underground Library was set up in 2009 in collaboration with the The Karta Center Foundation in Warsaw. It is comprised of Polish underground and exile publications, Polish flyers, posters, sound and visual recordings that are part of the Libri Prohibiti’s collections.

Polish Underground Publications Collection at Polish Library POSK in London

Located at the Polish Library of the Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) in London, Polish Underground Publications collection contains serials, books, and brochures published clandestinely by Polish opposition groups from 1976 to 1990. This is one of the largest collections of Polish independent publications worldwide and outside Poland. It documents the pluralistic character of anti-communist opposition in People's Poland and testifies to the richness, diversity, and magnitude of underground publishing in People's Poland.

Polja (Fields), magazine for culture and art collection

Časopis Polja počeo je sa radom 1955. godine u Novom Sadu i jedan je od najdugovečnijih časopisa na teritoriji bivše Jugoslavije. U svojih 506 brojeva obeležio je značajne periode jugoslovenske kulturne istorije svojim, prvenstveno afirmisanjem mladih autora u oblasti književnosti, teorije, književne i filmske kritike, ali i davanjem prostora društvenoj kritici. Osnivanje Polja neodvojivo je od Tribine mladih, organizacije koju su predvodili mladi ljudi, kritički nastrojeni i prema stanju u državi i u kulturi.
